Enterprise administrators can now set custom caps for overages using AWS Service Quotas. The quota field Maximum allowed overage per Kiro profile controls the maximum allowed overage for every user in the profile, letting you prevent unexpected costs while keeping users productive. View and adjust the cap directly in the Service Quotas console, or navigate there from the Manage link in the Overages setting in the Kiro console. Learn more ->

The daily user activity report now breaks down message counts by AI model, so enterprise admins can track model adoption and understand how usage maps to specific models. Each model used during the reporting period gets its own column (e.g., Auto_messages, Claude_Opus_4.6_messages). Learn more ->

The Users and Subscriptions tabs in the Kiro console now display an Email column for teams using IAM Identity Center, making it easier to identify and manage team members. Admins can see each user's email address alongside their username and plan details. The email field is also included when downloading the subscriptions CSV file. Learn more ->

Administrators can now export Kiro subscription data as a CSV file directly from the Kiro Console. The new "Download CSV" button on the Users & Groups page's Subscriptions table exports user name, subscription plan, status, type, and activation date.

Eligible university students now get one full year of free access to Kiro with 1,000 credits per month. No credit card required, no trial timer. Kiro's spec-driven development teaches structured problem decomposition — useful whether you're building class projects, hackathon prototypes, or startup MVPs. Every job now expects AI fluency; Kiro helps students build with AI from day one.

Students receive 1,000 credits per month for 12 months, with full access to Kiro IDE and CLI agentic capabilities including spec-driven development. Verification is handled through SheerID using a university-affiliated email.

Kiro is now available in AWS GovCloud (US-East) and AWS GovCloud (US-West) regions, enabling government agencies and contractors to use Kiro within their compliance boundaries.

Authenticate using AWS IAM Identity Center with a GovCloud Start URL (containing us-gov-home). Kiro uses the same installer for both commercial and GovCloud regions—IAM Identity Center authentication automatically routes traffic to the appropriate region. Individual login methods like GitHub, Google, and AWS Builder ID are not available in GovCloud regions. Learn more ->

For GovCloud customers, inference requests are processed using Amazon Bedrock in AWS GovCloud (US-West). Your content remains stored in the region where your Kiro profile was created, with all cross- region communication encrypted via TLS 1.2+. Learn more ->
